The Internet needed another source of rants and uninvited uninformed opinions.
One game I have been keeping my eye on (in the vain hopes of getting into its beta and giving me a new MMORPG game to play) is Horizons: Empire of Istaria. A good writeup on the game concept can be found here.
Today I took a quick little two hour walk through a local park called Minnewaska State Park Preserve. Basically its a large chunk of state forest land with trails and a couple preserved lakes sitting on top of a ridge. The temperature was perfect and the breeze kept the bugs away for the most part and the scenic spots overlooking the New Paltz / Hudson Valley area were pretty good. The only bad thing is they charge $7.00 per car, which is excessive when you are alone and only there for two hours.
I've been considering dusting off the bike and taking advantage of a couple of the bike trails the maps show passing a few waterfalls and scenic points. Maybe even stuffing my camera and lunch in the ol' backpack and making a half day of it. But then who am I kidding? I spent yesterday doing nothing... I didn't even vegetate without becoming listless.
